LM Re bolsters Singapore office with new senior underwriter

Liberty Mutual Reinsurance (LM Re) has announced the appointment of Alex Koh as senior underwriter, effective immediately.

Koh's role will encompass the management and expansion of LM Re's existing reinsurance portfolio within the region. The company said that Koh's appointment underscores its dedication to fusing local expertise with global insights, ultimately enhancing its client service.

Prior to joining LM Re, Koh served as a treaty manager at China Reinsurance Corporation, stationed at its Singapore branch. In this role, he held responsibility for underwriting treaty business originating from South Asia and South Korea.

Operating from its Singapore base, Koh will report to Annie Leong, the regional underwriting manager.

“As our operation in Singapore continues to expand, his extensive experience will be a great asset to us, our brokers, partners, and clients, helping us effectively manage complex and emerging risks. Our operations in Asia Pacific have been on a strong growth trajectory in recent years, and with individuals of Alex's calibre, we are ready to continue our growth,” Leong said.

In other recent developments for the reinsurer, LM Re, in collaboration with managing general agent XS Global and technology provider Safehub, has introduced the world's first sensor-based, parametric reinsurance treaty designed for earthquake risk.
